The Mekong Delta is one of Vietnam’s highlights, however if traveling by car seems a little boring and you are looking for a more adventurous experience, our Mekong cycling tours are for you. From two to five days, cycling Vietnam’s Mekong Delta allows you more cultural interaction and an opportunity to get some exercise!
Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City to Can Tho (approximate 40kilometerscycling)
Rise early and be driven from Ho Chi Minh City to Cai Lay and get acquainted with your bicycle. Then enjoy a 40kilometer ride along a combination of well paved, sand and dirt paths through local villages and rice fields and fruit orchards. Along the way, there are chances to see real-life activities of Mekong delta as kids going to local school, farmers growing rice and vegetables or keeping ducks on the field! Arrive Cai Be boat station, take a boat cruise to see traditional floating market and visit some local home factories as rice paste making, rice popcorn, and coconut candies. Drive to Can Tho and stay overnight at a hotel.
Day 2: Can Tho to Ho Chi Minh City (approximate 30kilometerscycling)
Wake up early (suggested at 05.30am) for another short boat cruise to see the busiest floating market in the Mekong. Buy a local coffee or a drink from a floating coffee shop if you like! Get back to your hotel, enjoy the breakfast, check out and take a short drive to Sa Dec. Then, cycle through beautiful country roads to a historic communist base. Get off your bicycle, take a scenic sampan trip around the base and be amazed how communists lived and worked during the war. After lunch, drive back to Ho Chi Minh City around 5.00pm
